The Taberna Barbarroja<\/strong> in the center of Sanl\u00facar de Barrameda is a must and unique. The originality of the place gives those who visit it for the first time an incomparable sensation of having made a discovery. All its walls show an endless number of portraits of actors, most of them classics that belong to the history of cinema. The images are shown in a fast-paced rhythm like the script of a movie from the 50’s that surprises and does not forget any detail. Anyone who likes movies will appreciate the authenticity of the decor making it a unique and endearing place of reference.<\/p>

La Taberna Barbarroja opened its doors in 1988 thanks to Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Jurado and his wife Lola Rodr\u00edguez, who was in charge of the kitchen making sandwiches and hamburgers. There were only ten tables and a pool table, it was more like a cocktail bar. The work of the couple together with the team they have been forming for more than three decades, has made the Taberna Barbarroja has an extensive menu with delicious dishes. They specialize in meats being its hamburger of retinto<\/strong> a delight, the high quality of the raw materials is a basic of the establishment. The menu has cinema starters for all tastes such as tuna belly with avocado or stuffed mushrooms. The Taberna Barbarroja follows a trend of American food (entrecote, hamburgers, hot dogs, skewers) while maintaining our national tastes (aneto, flamenqu\u00edn, pork tenderloin with different sauces, Iberian pork meats). You will also find a wide variety of Spanish and American sandwiches<\/strong>, highlighting the special chicken sandwich<\/strong>.<\/p>

Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda has not only brought his passion for cinema to his place, he also shares a great selection of distilled beverages, including premium brands of gin, rum and whiskey, as well as very interesting liquors. The variety of beers will also satisfy the customer.<\/p>

La Taberna Barbarroja has been operating for more than three decades, but it began to take shape much earlier in Charlot Pub, an establishment that belonged to Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda’s uncle, and that introduced him to the love of classic cinema in his adolescence. Some of the paintings that we see in the Taberna Barbarroja are inherited from his uncle, the collection that Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda currently has is so extensive that he rotates the images throughout the year.<\/p>
